The Robert Owen Fritz Letters, May-September, 1898, consist of letters and postcards written by Fritz to members of his family in Cleveland, Ohio, while he was serving in the Spanish-American War, containing comments about general camp routine and conditions, and the training program at Camp George H. Thomas, Chickamauga Park, Lytle, Georgia, and at a camp in Lakeland, Florida.
This collection will be useful to researchers studying the history of the Spanish-American War and the experiences of soldiers from Cleveland, Ohio, in that war. Those studying the activities of Troop C. 1st Regiment, Ohio Cavalry during the Spanish-American War will also find this collection useful.
