The Jewish War Veterans is the oldest active veterans' society in the United States. It was established in New York, New York, in 1896 as the Hebrew Union Veterans in order to foster patriotism and provide support to the Jewish community in America. The Post 14 Auxiliary was one of several ladies' auxiliaries of the Jewish War Veterans posts in Cleveland, Ohio. It was founded in 1931 by a group of women including Gertrude Konigsfeld, Sylvia Berlin, Anna Kaplan, and Julia Rubenstein. The Post 14 Auxiliary interacted with the community through patriotic presentations to children, fundraisers for support of Israel, and community service programs at hospitals and schools.
The Jewish War Veterans, Post 14 Auxiliary Records, 1943-1984, consist of certificates, programs, ration books, ritual books, and scrapbooks.
