 Abstract:  Rudolphus Edwards (1759-1840) was a merchant from Herkimer County, New York. He settled in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1798 and was elected as Township Chairman in 1802. The collection consists of deeds to tracts of land (mostly in Cleveland, Ohio), 1794-1814; Edwards' docket book while serving as a justice of the peace, 1815-1818; and a biographical sketch (1869) of Edwards.

 Abstract:  Linda Thayer Guilford (1823-1911) was an educator and temperance advocate of Cleveland, Ohio. The collection consists of correspondence, writings, speeches, notes on early Cleveland, Ohio, schools; newspaper clippings, scrapbook, and other papers concerning Miss Guilford's activities as a teacher at the Cleveland Female Seminary and the Cleveland Academy, and her interest in the temperance movement. Includes secretary's book (1882-1885) of the Young Ladies Temperance League and minutes and newspaper clippings (1885-1880) concerning the Young Ladies League for Temperance Education, Cleveland. Also contains notes in memory of her former student, Constance Fenimore Woolson, and extracts from the writings of Woolson.

 Abstract:  Peter Neff (1798-1878) was a partner of Charles Bird, Harry Bird, and Samuel Nightingale in the hardware business in Baltimore, Maryland, between 1818 and 1828. In 1835 he settled in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he continued in business and was active in banking. The collection consists of reminiscences containing references to his family, to his personal and business life, and also to his interests in the Presbyterian Church and in temperance activities in Cincinnati.
