Porter also served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Western Reserve Historical Society, as a trustee of the Cleveland Area Arts Council, and a member of the Rowfant Club. He was a member of the North Coast Village Steering Committee in the 1980s, which played a key role in the Lexington Village project and revitalization efforts in the Hough area community of Cleveland, Ohio. The collection consists of planning and development documents, project reports, proposals, correspondence, minutes, memoranda, newspaper clippings, magazine articles, and personal notes.
