The Florence Crittenton Home for Unwed Mothers of Cleveland was established in 1911, and served the needs of unwed mothers and their children until 1970. From 1970 to 1996, the organization focused on providing services for delinquent and pre-delinquent girls. The Junior Board provided volunteer opportunities for daughters of the board members and trustees of the organization. Through membership dues and fundraising activities such as flea markets and bazaars, members of the Junior Board provided funds for new furniture, paint, and curtains for the Crittenton home, magazine subscriptions and books for the girls living there, and other items to make life more comfortable.
