His daughter, Caroline (1844-1921), married Charles A. Brayton (1841 or 1842-1909), owner of the Standard Car Wheel Company of Cleveland. His granddaughter, Frances Payne Bingham Bolton (1885-1977), became a prominent philanthropist and United States Congresswoman from Ohio. Spencer, the son of Dr. George Spencer of the Cleveland Homeopathic Medical College. John G. Eberhard served in Company H of the 20th United States Infantry Regiment during the Spanish-American War.
