She helped organize the Glenville Area Community Council, Parkgate Avenue Street Club, East 111th Street Club, and the Retired Teachers' Union. She served as vice-president of the Cleveland Branch, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and helped with its membership drive, Freedom Fund dinner, march on Washington, and discrimination surveys.
