The collection consists of handwritten copies of journals describing Cutler's trips to New York and Philadelphia (1787) to negotiate a contract with Congress for the purchase of lands for the Ohio Company, and to the future site of Marietta, Ohio (1788) to visit the Ohio Company purchase there.
