The Jewish Education Center of Cleveland (JECC) implemented the program in the Cleveland, Ohio, area in 1993. Numbers 2000 was initially implemented in five congregational schools, and then grew to eight schools the following year. The program was designed to interest students in their Jewish heritage both in and out of the classroom.
