A large number of the club's early members were immigrants, and a number of members were active in the labor movement. Some of the club's membership played active roles in Local 867. Among the club's leaders were Sam Bossin, Ben Weinstein, Hyman Weinberg, Ed Likover, Al Horowitz, and Jack Newman. During the late 1960s-early 1970s, many club members retired, and few Jewish youth entered the painting trade. Members voted to dissolve the organization in 1978.
