 Abstract:  N. R. Jennings was a Confederate Army officer who served as brigade commissary under General Leonidas Polk during the American Civil War, 1861-1863. The collection consists of correspondence, commissions, orders, and other military papers of Jennings. Includes deeds and contracts (1842-54) concerning the sale of slaves and land to James R. Jennings of New Orleans, LA., and resolutions and minutes of directors meetings of the New Orleans, Jackson & Great Northern Railroad during the Civil War.
