 Abstract:  Reverend and Mrs. E.G. Wood of Chesterville, Ohio, were the parents of Julius V. Wood, who served with Company C of the 96th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment, and Lucius V. Wood, who served with Company E of the 121st Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment during the American Civil War. The collection consists primarily of letters addressed to Rev. and Mrs. E.G. Wood from their two sons, Julius and Lucius; Lucius Wood's diary (August 8-October 31, 1862); and a partial diary and scrapbook, undated.

 Abstract:  Charles Roscoe Howland was a brigadier general in the United States Army who served in the Philippines in 1899, had command of the U.S. Army Disciplinary Barracks on Alcatraz Island during World War I, and was a judge advocate and a military instructor at the Army General Staff School. After retiring he wrote several books, including his family history, entitled: A brief genealogical and biographical record of Charles Roscoe Howland, brothers and forebears. The collection consists of genealogical notes compiled by Charles Howland concerning the Howland family, with a small amount of notes on the Thomas Wood family. Also included is information on General Howland, particularly regarding his service at the United States Army Disciplinary Barracks on Alcatraz Island.

 Abstract:  Paul Bough Travis (1891-1975) was an artist and art educator who taught at the Cleveland School of Art (later the Cleveland Art Institute). His wife, Marjorie Penfield Travis, collected materials on her family history. The collection consists of correspondence, diaries, mementos, unpublished short stories and poetry, and other materials relating to the World War I experiences and artistic career of Paul Travis, and to the genealogy of Marjorie Penfield Travis. Includes diaries and correspondence of her grandparents, William L. and Lucy E. Wood.
