 Notes:  In 1717 Montgomery secured from the proprietors of Carolina a grant of all lands between the rivers Altamaha and Savannah, to be erected into a distinct province. To this he gave the name of Margravate of Azilia; no colonists were sent out, however, and at the end of three years the grant became void by its own limitations.
