Auld, David David Auld (b. 1844) was a Columbus, Ohio, native who was a drummer during the American Civil War. He served with the Twentieth Ohio Infantry and the Forty-Third Ohio Infantry and participated in Sherman's march through Georgia. Auld was a photographer and artist during his service, selling battle photographs and drawings to newspapers and journals and fellow soldiers.
