The group was active in the fight against tuberculosis in the Cleveland area before expanding its work to encompass other respiratory diseases. In 1973 the group became the Northern Ohio Lung Association. The collection consists of minutes, financial records, committee materials, Christmas seal sales material, scrapbooks, and a subject file regarding tuberculosis control in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, and Ohio. Also included are minutes and annual reports of the Ohio Tuberculosis and Health Association. The collection is useful for understanding the daily operations and overall goals of a private, nonprofit health organization and gives insight into fundraising and the problem of tuberculosis detection and control in the Cleveland area. Included are materials relating to the history and operation of Sunny Acres, a sanatorium affiliated with the Anti-Tuberculosis League.
