 Abstract:  The collection consists of an anonymous diary, dating from January 1, 1877 to January 26, 1889, detailing the daily activities of an unmarried, middle-aged woman. Listing her daughter, Carrie, as her only source of comfort, she details the exhausting burden of her household chores and of her job as cleaning lady at an unnamed church. Extremely depressed and dissatisfied with her futile, monotonous existence, she looks forward to death as her only release.

 Abstract:  The collection consists of a journal kept by an unidentified itinerant preacher who traveled from Princeton, New Jersey, through New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. In Ohio he preached at Sandusky, Norwalk, Elyria, Cleveland, Painesville, Madison, and several villages in Ashtabula County. Includes brief comments on the places he visited, the people he met, and his unusual experiences.

 Abstract:  Laura Barrett lived at 1314 West 115th Street in Cleveland, Ohio, during the Great Depression and World War II. She worked as a cook and house mother for the Phi Delta Theta fraternity house at Western Reserve University during the school year in the early 1930s and then worked as a cook and housekeeper at Rose-Mary Center in Euclid, Ohio, later in the 1930s and 1940s. The collection consists of thirteen diaries and one financial ledger book.

 Abstract:  Nancie Swan Foskett(1838-?) of Medina County, Ohio, was a schoolteacher (1861-1865) in various schools in Medina County. During 1861-1862, she and her father lived in LeSeuer, Minnesota with her brothers and their families, returning to Medina County in the spring of 1862. In 1865, Nancie Swan married Captain Porter Foskett of Brunswick, Ohio. They made their home in the city of Medina, where Porter Foskett became a successful businessman. The collection consists of eleven diaries of Nancie Swan Foskett, 1855-1869, and one account book of N.A. Goodwin, 1818-1834. The diaries detail her life as a teacher in various schools in Medina County, Ohio, her trip to Minnesota, civilian life during the American Civil War, and family events during the period.
