Abraham Tappan (1779-1855) was a surveyor and postmaster of Unionville, Ohio, during the nineteenth century. The collection
includes correspondence relating to land transactions, surveys and politics in the Western Reserve; and field notes made by
Tappan while surveying Henry Champion's land in Concord Township, the road from the Muskingum River to Lake Erie, the road
from the mouth of the Grand River to Warren, Ohio, and areas west of the Cuyahoga River and north of the Tuscarawas River.
