| Abstract: | The McIlrath Tavarn was a tavern and well-known hostelry and general store established in 1804 by Alexander McIlrath, and located on the northwest corner of Euclid and Superior in East Cleveland, Ohio. McIlrath's brother Abner opened a tavern at the same location in 1837, which distinguished itself as a local meeting place and important community center for many decades. People came from Doan's Corners and Euclid Township to listen to candidates and vote. It was torn down ca. 1890. The collection consists of an account book listing customers' accounts. |
