Jesse Baldwin (b. 1815) was a businessman and state legislator, of Youngstown, Ohio. The collection consists of letter books
(1862-1864) containing copies of letters sent to such persons as Salmon P. Chase, William P. Fessenden, James A. Garfield,
Horace Greeley, and John Sherman, expressing Baldwin's opinions on the economic and monetary policies of the U.S.; copies
of letters sent and received, financial accounts, and other records (1879-1881) relating to Baldwin's business activities
in Boardman, Ohio.
