Abstract: Isaac Newton Pillsbury was a civil engineer of Cleveland, Ohio. He served as engineer and superintendent of the 2nd Subdivision of the Cleveland, Painesville & Ashtabula Railroad Company in the 1850s. The collection consists of correspondence, notes on mathematics and surveying, notes on building estimates for bridges and arches for the Cleveland, Painesville and Ashtabula Railroad Company, surveys of land in Cleveland and Cuyahoga County, surveying and elevation information about Cleveland streets and the Great Lakes, surveys of routes of Cleveland railroads and of the Ohio, Miami, and Sandy & Beaver Canals, and other papers.

The Isaac Newton Pillsbury Papers, 1840-1887 and undated, consist of correspondence, notes on mathematics and surveying, notes on building estimates for bridges and arches for the Cleveland, Painesville and Ashtabula Railroad Company, surveys of land in Cleveland and Cuyahoga County, surveying and elevation information about Cleveland streets and the Great Lakes, surveys of routes of Cleveland railroads and of the Ohio, Miami, and Sandy & Beaver Canals, and other papers.
