The George W. Hodges Letters, 1861-1865 and undated, consist of letters to his wife, Marana, during the Civil War.
This collection will be useful to researchers studying the history of the American Civil War and the experiences of soldiers from Ohio who served in Company G. 41st Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry. The letters contain many personal, family and general comments in addition to remarks on the activities of his regiment, which was stationed in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and Texas.
