Abstract: Henry Holcomb (1830-1919) was a furnace manufacturer in Painesville, Ohio, who served as a band musician in the 2nd Brigade, 3rd Division, 23rd Army Corps during the American Civil War. The collection consists of autobiographical scrapbooks containing newspaper clippings, letters, records, photographs, and Holcomb's comments and revisions. Topics include Holcomb's experiences as an army musician during the Civil War and the history of the First Congregational Church of Painesville.
