Abstract: Benedict Crowell (1869-1952) was a Cleveland, Ohio, engineer, builder and bank president who became Assistant Secretary of War and Director of Munitions during World War I. The collection consists of correspondence, military and personal documents and clippings relating to Gen. Crowell and his career (1902-1952); and deeds, contracts and clippings relating to his wife's families (1794-1886). Prominent correspondents include Woodrow Wilson and John J. Pershing.
