Scope and Content

The Oakwood Club Records, 1872-1955, consist of constitutions, by-laws, minutes, President's reports, a history of the club, membership and subscription lists, and newspaper clippings regarding the Oakwood Club and the Excelsior Club.

This collection will be useful to researchers studying the history of the Jewish community in Cleveland, Ohio, in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Those studying the history and activities of country clubs and private clubs in northeast Ohio, and the history of leisure and recreation will find this collection useful.
