Abstract: S. D. McNeal (b. 1810) was a Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, draftsman who went prospecting near Sacramento, California, 1850-1851. The collection consists of two diaries, letters to his wife, an account book and a receipt. The diary entries describe the journey to and prospecting in California, and include diagrams of railroad cars.
