Robert Hanna (1789-1854) was the first white child born in Lynchburg, (West) Virginia. His family moved to Columbiana County,
Ohio, in 1801. He became a circuit-riding minister for the Methodist Church. His great nephew, Marcus A. Hanna, became a United
States Senator. The collection consists of an autobiography, a daily journal of his activities as a minister, clippings,
genealogical material, sermons, scattered correspondence, a license to perform marriages, and scattered notes on the John
Kersey Wharry branch of the family (ca. 1938).
