History of the 101st Ohio Infantry, United States Army

The Ohio Volunteer Infantry, 101st Regiment was recruited from Crawford, Wyandot, Seneca, Huron and Erie Counties and mustered into service on August 30, 1862. It participated in twenty-eight major battles and campaigns during the American Civl War, beginning at Perryville in October and including Murfreesboro, Chickamauga, and the siege of Atlanta. On June 12, 1865, the regiment was removed from the south, mustered out of service and sent to Cleveland where its members were discharged.
