Abstract: | Andrew W. McCormick (b. 1830) was a Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, native who was editor and publisher of the Marietta Republican. He was a captain in the 77th Ohio Volunteer Infantry and was captured twice during the American Civil War. Afterwards he entered law practice and became a Probate Court Judge in Washington County, Ohio. The collection consists of memoirs written during a trip to Colorado in 1893-1894, and a history of the 77th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, with an account of McCormick's experiences as a prisoner of war. |
