| Abstract: | Johann Gehrung came to Cleveland, Ohio, from Germany in 1850. His great-grandson, John H. Gehrung, was an engineer at General Motors, an amateur genealogist, and a member of the Western Reserve Historical Society. The collection consists of John Hyde Gehrung's genealogical notes, most of which deal with the Hyde family, his maternal ancestors. This collection is useful for those tracing the genealogy of the Hyde family and any of the other families mentioned in the inventory. |
