| Abstract: | Frank E. Joseph (1904-1995) was a lawyer in Cleveland, Ohio, and a partner in the law firm of Jones, Day, Cockley, and Reavis. The collection consists of Joseph's "legal Bibles" entitled Memoranda of Law and Pleadings and the indexes to these volumes. The books deal with the cases Joseph handled and consist primarily of information he used for presenting his cases. Many of the cases Joseph handled dealt with lawsuits involving various business in Cleveland, Ohio. |

Frank E. Joseph (1904-1995) was a prominent lawyer in Cleveland, Ohio, throughout much of the twentieth century as a partner in the law firm of Jones, Day, Cockley, and Reavis. In addition to his legal work, Joseph was active in civic affairs, serving as president of the John P. Murphy Foundation and on the board of trustees of such organizations as the Kulas Foundation, the Musical Arts Association, Bellefaire, and the Warner and Swasey Foundation.
The Frank E. Joseph Papers, 1927-1977, consist of his "legal Bibles" titled Memoranda of Law and Pleadings and the indexes to these volumes. The books deal with the cases Joseph handled and consist primarily of information he used to present his cases, such as briefs and pleadings.
