Born in Wienzbno, Poland, Lodzieski immigrated to the United States in 1902 and opened his first bakery in Lakewood in 1911. Nine years later he bought the Lakewood Bakery at 11717 Detroit Avenue and developed it into a twelve-store chain. He organized and served as vice-president of the National Committee of Americans of Polish Descent and became the president as well as patron of the Polish Research Institute of Modern History. He was also a member of the Polish National Alliance Lodge, Lakewood Elks, Lakewood Kiwanis, Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, and Polish National Council. Victoria Lodzieski (1887-1950) married Stefan in 1909. Born in Rypin, Poland, she immigrated to the United States in 1905. She was a member of the Daughters of Poland, Halina Singing Society, Jutrzenska Singing Society, and the World War I Committee for the Liberation of Poland and became president of the Polish Welfare Association in 1935.
