Scope and Content

The Marvin E. Stow Diary, 1848, consists of a single bound volume.

The collection is useful for understanding daily farm life and agricultural practices in the Western Reserve in the mid-nineteenth century. The diary describes the weather and Stow's daily activities with some notes on social occurrences such as deaths, sicknesses, arrival of guests, and visits to Cleveland, Ohio.
