Abstract: Halina Swidzinska was a Polish journalist and professor of Slavic languages at Alliance College, Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania. Swidzinska was a free-lance journalist for Radio Free Europe. She came to the United States in 1961 where she studied and taught Slavic languages and literature, and continued to publish in Polish emigre journals throughout the United States, Canada, Great Britain, West Germany and France. In 1975 she retired to the Netherlands. The collection consists of autobiographical materials and articles written by Swidzinska for the Polish press in America and Europe, and for Radio Free Europe.
