Biography of Frank R. Uible

Frank R. Uible (1895-1974) was a Cleveland, Ohio, lawyer and three-term Ohio state representative from Cleveland who served from 1933-1938. During his last term, he held the position of speaker of the House. Born in Edenton, Ohio, he received his B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan and, in 1927, his L.L.D. from Western Reserve University. He practiced law with the firm Uible and Eaken from 1930-1946, and taught labor law at Western Reserve University from 1942-1950. He was married in 1932 and had two children. He resided in Shaker Heights, Ohio.


Scope and Content

The Frank R. Uible Papers, 1934-1936, consist of congratulatory letters from constituents and colleagues to Uible on his 1934 and 1936 election victories.
