Abstract: John Branchflower, Jr., was a Cleveland, Ohio, native who lived in Rockport (Rocky River), Ohio, for a time and may have attended Baldwin University in Berea, Ohio. He moved to Jackson, Michigan, and appears to have done carpentry and house-building work there. He married Emma Taylor in 1875 and had three children, Emma Grace Branchflower Goodall, Pearl Branchflower Dickerson, and John Roy Branchflower. The collection consists of letters, diaries, wills, marriage certificates, and other legal documents relating to the family of John Branchflower and his Aunt and Uncle, Simeon and Harriet Dunbar of Brighton, Ohio.
