Abstract: Ezekiel Hover was a Western Reserve surveyor who made the original survey of Charlestown, a township in present-day Portage County, Ohio. Before its formal organization in 1814, Charlestown Township was known as Hinckley Township, Samuel Hinckley being the original proprietor. The collection consists of a true copy of Ezekiel Hover's original field book of 1806; also, scattered notes of the Land Company of the Proprietors of Charlestown listing who drew which lots and to whom they were sold.
