History of Jennings Center for Older Adults

The Jennings Center for Older Adults, also called Jennings Hall, is located at 10204 Granger Road in Garfield Heights, Ohio. A Roman Catholic non-profit organization, it serves older adults of all faiths with a continuum of care. Its mission is to provide healthcare and supportive services to older adults with a special concern for those with limited means. The home was opened in 1941 by the Sisters of the Holy Ghost (currently known as the Sisters of the Holy Spirit) as the result of a generous bequest by the estate of Msgr. Gilbert Jennings, founding pastor of St. Agnes Parish. After a fire, a new facility was dedicated in 1949 with the help of Catholic Charities. In the 1990s Jennings Hall expanded its nursing care services and programs with foundation support. A new facility, specializing in Alzheimer's and dementia care, opened in 1995 with room for 150 residents.

In 2012, services included independent and assisted living, rent subsidized living, adult day service, long-term care, rehabilitation, respite care, and infant and child day care with an intergenerational component.
