<abstract label="Abstract:" encodinganalog="520$a">Charles Albert Turner (1843-1863) was a Monroeville, Ohio, soldier who served with the 101st Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry (1862) and with the Mississippi Marine Brigade (1863), during the American Civil War. He died after the Vicksburg campaign in July 1863.    The collection consists of letters, mostly to his parents, Albert and Hannah (Covert) Turner, written while Turner served in the Civil War.</abstract>

<scopecontent encodinganalog="520$a"><head>Scope and Content</head><p>The Charles Albert Turner Letters, 1862-1863, consist of letters (mostly to his parents) written while Turner served in the Civil War.</p><scopecontent><p>This collection will be useful to researchers studying the history of the American Civil War and the experiences of soldiers from Ohio who served in the 101st Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry and the Mississippi Marine Brigade.
