The collection consists of land contracts, deeds, receipts, genealogical notes, and other papers, of Matthew Birchard and his family. Includes receipts of W.A. Birchard, coal dealer.

The collection consists of primarily correspondence of Stickney. Includes letters from Lewis Bond, J.L. Comstock, Paul Hamilton (U.S. Secretary of the Navy), Henry Hart, Samuel Mitchill, Anthony Shane, Amos Spafford, Caleb Stark, and Two Stickney, and a declaration to the Delaware Tribe (1812) by William Henry Harrison, Governor of the Indiana Territory.

 Abstract:  Mortimer Dormer Leggett (1821-1896) was a colonel of the 75th Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry, during the American Civil War. He participated in the Battle of Shiloh and the Siege of Vicksburg and was promoted to Brigadier General. The collection consists of correspondence with Captain W.R. Hodges and General George McGinnis concerning events at Vicksburg and Shiloh (1887), and three typed articles: "General Lewis Wallace's Division at Shiloh," "Lessons of the War," and "The Siege of Vicksburg."
