	Abstract:	John F. Kratky was the editor of Novy Svet, a Czech language newspaper published in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a close friend of Cleveland cartoonist J.H. Donahey. The collection consists of scrapbooks containing newspaper cartoons, biographical articles, and correspondence about J.H. "Hal" Donahey, material on Kratky's involvement in Czechoslovak affairs, and an autobiographical sketch by Kratky.

	Abstract:	The Consumers League of Ohio is a political action organization concerned with the welfare of the laboring class. It lobbies for legislation in their interests. The collection consists of correspondence, newsletters, reports, speeches, legislative bills and acts, financial and membership records, articles, clippings, and printed material.

	Abstract:	The Poles in Cleveland Manuscript was compiled by workers of the Writers' Program of the Work Projects Administration in the State of Ohio and sponsored by the City of Cleveland, Ohio. It includes chapters on the history of Poland and of the Poles in America. Accompanying miscellaneous material (1941-1942) includes copies of photographs of sample illustrations, correspondence and memoranda about the book and about two projected, ancillary publications, and a critique of the history by the editor of the Ohio Writers' Project.

	Abstract:	The Twarogowski and Zielinski families resided in Gorzno, West Prussia, Germany (now Poland). In 1913 the Zielinski family immigrated to the United States and settled in Cleveland, Ohio. The collection consists of legal documents, tax records, death certificates, real estate records, a marriage certificate, military service papers, and old age insurance receipts, from the Twarogowskis' and Zielinskis' period of residence in Germany, and a World War I pass permit for aliens, alien registration cards, a death certificate, legal documents, account books, photographs, and Cleveland-related material, from the period following their immigration to the United States.

The collection consists of copies of correspondence, press releases, and memoranda, including correspondence between Rogelj and Louis Adamic (author and Yugoslavian partisan), and between Adamic and others, such as Franklin Roosevelt and Marshall Tito, concerning U.S.-Yugoslav relations, support of Slovenian artists and intellectuals in America, Yugoslavian relief, a libel suit by Winston Churchill, post-war plans for Yugoslavia, and Henry A. Wallace's presidential campaign.

	Abstract:	The Cleveland Shopping News Company was a newspaper company founded in 1921, by a group of downtown department stores, to secure lower advertising rates by competing with the daily newspapers. It ceased operations in 1972. The collection consists of two bound volumes containing A General Management Survey of the Cleveland Shopping News Company, dated Dec. 6, 1950, prepared by Cresap, McCormick and Paget, management engineers, to determine the feasibility of continued publication of the Cleveland Shopping News, and financial records, consisting of incomplete accounts of the company.

	Abstract:	Ann Maria Stockwell (1840-1904) was a Boston, Massachusetts resident (her home was in the Roxbury section of Boston), and wife of George Green. She was born in West Acton, Massachusetts on March 28, 1840. Her first husband, David Hapgood, died during the American Civil War. Her second husband, George Green, was a stationer who died in 1899. The collection consists of three bound, handwritten notebooks containing an account of an extended trip to Europe. Includes descriptions of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Oxford, London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Cologne, Strasbourg, Bern, Geneva, Paris, Rome, and other cities in Italy. Mrs. Green was in Rome at the time of the deaths of Victor Emmanuel II and Pius IX, in 1878. She also attended a London church service and sermon given by the Nonconformist divine, Charles Haddon Spurgeon, at his church, The Tabernacle.

Includes sample menus, a typed manuscript summarizing the summer of 1905, and three copies of The Hiram House Life, a magazine.

	Abstract:	John Quincy Adams Campbell was a member of the 5th Regiment of Iowa Volunteer Infantry during the American Civil War. The collection consists of three Civil War diaries. Volume 1 contains daily entries from July 9, 1861 to December 31, 1862. Volume 2 continues with January 1, 1863 to May 4, 1864, and also contains some later observations about his regiment written after 1905. Volume 3 contains entries from May 5, 1864 to November 24, 1864.

	Abstract:	Edward F. Nydegger (1831-1909) was a native of Aarberg, Switzerland who immigrated with his family to the United States in 1850 and settled in Weinsberg, Ohio. During the American Civil War he served in the 11th regiment, Indiana Infantry, and sketched many of the scenes he encountered during his travels. The collection consists of a scrapbook containing penciled drawings of Civil War scenes, a chronicle of the Nydegger family's emigration from Switzerland to Ohio in 1850, a family genealogical history, the Nydegger coat of arms, a Swiss tax receipt, a religious card from Nydegger's teacher in Aarberg, a record of Nydegger's experiences as a soldier, newspaper clippings, and religious mottos drawn and embellished by Nydegger.
