 Abstract:  Joan Terr Ronis (1927-1994) was a well-known pianist who performed with various Cleveland, Ohio, area orchestras, including the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra, the Cleveland Women's Orchestra, the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, the Suburban Symphony, the Heights Civic Orchestra, and the Euclid Civic Orchestra. She attended Cleveland Heights schools. Later, she was a master student of Boris Goldovsky at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and completed her graduate training from Cleveland State University where she was appointed to the Music Department faculty in 1972. The collection consists of announcements, booklets, bulletins, correspondence, flyers, handbooks, newspaper clippings, notes, and programs.

 Abstract:  The Hruby family was one of the most prominent musical families in Cleveland, Ohio, in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. In 1883 clarinetist Frank Hruby, Sr. (IV) arrived in Cleveland from Cehnice, Bohemia (now Czech Republic). Frank IV organized and played in many local musical groups, including the Great Western Band, Lakeside, Ohio, summer orchestra, and the Euclid Opera House. He and his wife Katerina had seven children who all became musicians, and who all taught at the Hruby Conservatory of Music, which was located at Broadway Avenue and East 55th Street in Cleveland. The collection consists of newspaper clippings, correspondence, event programs, family history documents, financial documents, maps, scrapbooks, sheet music, tour itineraries, and travel journals.

 Abstract:  The Latvian Association of Cleveland was founded in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1950 to unite the Latvian immigrant community in northeast Ohio, promote Latvian culture and traditions, and preserve the Latvian language. Beginning in 1999, the organization sponsored the effort to develop the Latvian Cultural Garden in Cleveland Cultural Gardens of Rockefeller Park. The garden was dedicated in 2006. The collection consists of the contents of two scrapbooks that document the development and dedication of the Latvian Cultural Garden in Cleveland, Ohio.

Among the most popular attractions was the Billy Rose Aquacade, featuring water ballet shows starring Johnny Weismueller and Eleanor Holm.  Abstract:  John Rieley (1840-1874) was a soldier in the 19th Independent Battery, Ohio Light Artillery, during the American Civil War. His brother, Francis Rieley (1842-1909) was a soldier in Company I, Third Ohio Cavalry. They were residents of the Old Brooklyn neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio, before the Civil War and the children of Irish immigrants Hugh Rieley (1813-1882) and Margaret Owens Rieley (1814-1886). The collection consists of approximately 50 letters written by John Rieley to his family; typed transcripts of letters written by Francis Rieley to his family compiled by Oliver Rieley; and typed transcripts of letters by both brothers and family history information compiled by James B. Rieley.

 Abstract:  "Transformations in Cleveland Art, 1796-1946: Community and Diversity in Modern America" was a 1996 exhibit at the Cleveland Museum of Art that was co-curated by William H. Robinson and David Steinberg as part of the bicentennial celebrations for the City of Cleveland, Ohio. The exhibit explored the transformation of Cleveland, Ohio, from canal village to industrial metropolis through the lens of its local visual arts scene and how local artists interpreted rapid social, economic, and cultural changes in the city. The exhibit also compared and contrasted trends in visual art and art education in Cleveland and the United States. The exhibit included paintings, sculpture, photography, prints, and the decorative arts. The collection consists of the research files compiled by the exhibit curators. The collection consists primarily of photocopies of secondary sources, correspondence with historical societies, museums, and libraries, photographs, and curator notes.
